To Walk Naked

Genre : Experimental
To Walk Naked

In 1990, a group of African women protested the unlawful destruction of their homes in the squatter camps of Dobsonville, by the then Afrikaaner National government. In 1995, a group of women filmmakers revisited the women involved in that protest which had brought the South African media to a halt. The women reflect on their experiences of liberation politics and of the social stigma of having protested by literally stripping themselves naked in order to protest their oppression and repel the soldiers.
