On the outskirts of Sao Paulo, Brazil's largest city, a group of poor women decided to organize their community to improve the conditions of poverty in which they lived. Grupo de Maes de Vila Campo Limpo led a community struggle to achieve the basic necessities: decent childcare, health, nutrition, and jobs.
