The first fiction film directed by a woman in Chile since the 1973 military coup, ANGELS recreates the lives and hopes of the generation of Chileans who reached maturity during the Popular Unity government of Salvador Allende. The film offers a rare insight into the period, depicting a group of university students and activists struggling with personal conflicts, romance and political aspirations as the Allende government falls, the military moves in, and many of the youths begin to disappear.
